Anyway, I don't really miss Singapore except for my friends and family and .... i guess... thats it.... haha...
We have moved to a lovely and cosy rental house with a wee view of the sea. It has 2 bedrooms, a large living area, 2 fireplaces but we only use one, an open concept kitchen, a cool pantry (which can be a little bigger if you ask me), one bathroom, 2 toilets, a laundry room, a garage, and gardens of course. It comes with really friendly retired neighbours who we have spoke to more than our neighbours at home. Oh well....
The weather is lovely, a cool 10 degrees when the sun is out and about 5 when the moon is out. What else have I been doing? Besides working part time in schools and entertaining my in laws who are here to visit (and cook and clean and pack and shop and everything else they wanna do) and trying to find time to rest.... honestly I have been really tired and busy. After the stint at the motel and trying to look for a permanent job, I am really tired. I have driven 3 hours to Christchurch (one way) and back in one month, to Lake Tekapo (2 hrs one way) and to Fleurs, to the Elephant Rocks, Glenavy, and everywhere..... as much as I love driving, its just..... tiring.... I havent had time to really live the NZ life of chilling, relaxing and reading a book. Not to mention gardening and cooking. Sighs... but I'm lovin' it and enjoying what comes my way.... I need a holiday!!! A real non driving holiday.
But the people (and the little doggie, whose custody been returned to the owner.... she's cute eh, but she's not mine k.... haha) we have met so far are awesome!! Singaporeans, Kiwi's and ppl from other countries who have settled down here have been good as gold!
We just moved into our rental for a week and snuggled in pretty quick. Had to get the electricity connected ( many companies to choose from, so monopoly on that unlike..... ), got our internet ( there's a company which is flexible enough to do it for a short term without penalty and it comes with a phone line with free local calls unlike......), rented a fridge for short term ( little pricey but who doesnt need a fridge, eh). Lovin it lots and lots.
Anyway, here are some pics.
Our house in Oamaru. It would cost us a gazillion dollars to rent one like this in Singapore. But our neighbours and landlord are priceless (though the house has a weekly pricetag).
View from our house. Thats the sea in the background. The Pacific Ocean.
Our warm fireplace in the middle of the house to heat us up in the cold winter nights.
Thats all for now babes and dudes..... See ya later!
