So this week has been hellish. Results were out, some didnt do as well as others, some crumbled, some faced up to reality, some were simply bochap. Well, I had to counsel a few of my students. Which was alright but what I remember most was the joy on some of my students faces. Some were beaming and exuberant. I guess not only they have put in tremendous amount of effort but I think their efforts have paid off. Well, at least most of them are happy.
Sent off another batch of Padwans. Preparing for one of the most important battles in Tatooine. The ceremony was alright. Nothing super special.
Only done some of my work, have more to do on Sunday, and Monday and I'm super busy all the way till next Tuesday. Yikes! Then I have more work lined up.... more yikes! Life is awful!
Anyway, the highlight of the week was today. Finished 1/10th of my work, came home, slept then played tennis with LK. Psi was about 70+ and it made the weather slightly less humid. We played for about 2 hours but I could still go on! It was fun! Then we went out for dinner at
Hongkong Cafe
We went to Hongkong Cafe at East Coast after tennis and I was starved out! It's a great cafe with many items on the menu. We tried
1) Xiao Long Bao -soso
2) Steamed Ribs - okie la
3) Glutinous rice- good!
4) Hot sour soup- good!
5) Seafood Ee mee- Good!
6) French toast with peanut butter - Good but oily
7) Durian Pudding- Ultra super duper excellent! Its like a hydrid of durian pengat from Swissotel Merchant Court and Durian ice cream. A definite bloody well try it!
with 3 drinks and 4 polo bao to takeaway, it cost us slightly less than $50.
Service: Similar to the one in Cafe Cartel except that you pay at the end
Return factor: with so many choices! I will definitely return!
Opening hours: it starts from 6pm all the way till 5am in the morning. coole huh.
Ambience: typical chill out cafe... a little noiser
Must try: the chilli! its made with dried shrimp and the flavour of the chili is superb!
On thursday, we went to
Sushi Tei at Serangoon Gardens
The food was well prepared and the prices are comparable to Sakae Sushi. We had the beef sukiyaki, various sushi and the cold soba. the ebi tempura was good! All in all it was abt $50 as well.
Return factor: definitely, since its so near by
Service: not bad
ambience: typical
It was been such a hectic week that I hardly have time to cook nor have the mood.
