Low Blood Pressure
Yeah, that was what I was diagnosed with in Ma Kuang in Serangoon. Went in, there was a patient before me, so i read some mags. They had my details captured in the system, by ic number. So i went in thi s little room, He has a chinese doctor, can speak a little english, which complemented my little mandarin. Told him about my cold clammy, stomach pain, aches etc. It was a nice conversation, but this time when I didnt understand, I asked " Na shi shem me?" or "ing wen shi shem ma?" which translates to "lu kong shi me?" or " apa u cakap?" (did I mention I failed my malay oral) or in good english "What is it called in English?" {just showing off whats left of my linguistic skills)
Anyway, he took my pulse( you know, like those chinese drama series) but it listened to it for a very long time, on my right, then left wrist. Why left? Dont know.....
Anyway, after some blabber and exchange of words in english and mandarin, he looked at my tongue and took my blood pressure and diagnosed me with low blood pressure. 90/60. Not abnormally low but within the low healthy range. Perhaps thats why the National Blood Centre has never made me a member. I'm anaemic in addition to having low blood pressure..... the person who gets my blood would have more problems to deal with.
So,we talked etc, he asked if I wanted a massage. Of course! Ma kuang Massotherapies are solid and effective. You dont get a nice flower to view when they ask you to stick your head in the little hole on the massage bed, nor do you get to listen to soothing balinese music and the lights are not dimmed. Instead you see his shoes, listen to the pharmacist grind up some chinese herbs and the room is flooded in bright white light. And as I mentioned in some blogs before, its not a relaxing massage. Its like killer, ironing out the suanness in the back. Feels like hell during the massage but it really cures the aches.
So he gave me some herbs to take, sent me off with $53 dollars less in my account but my back is ache free. Cant say much for my feeling of weakness or sudden pin prick like aches in my stomach and everywhere else.
